“Dave-on-Duty” Episode 8: Women’s History Month Edition at 8th Ward Pub

ROCKFORD, IL. – In honor of Women’s History Month (March), State Representative Dave Vella seeks to honor and highlight 68th District women-owned local businesses. State Rep Vella will be joined by Rockford’s 8th Ward Alderman, Karen Hoffman to celebrate 8th Ward Pub owner, Cathy Dzik in honor of Women’s History Month 2023. 

8th Ward Pub, located in the East Broadway area is a 1960’s filling station converted into a cozy, urban style pub offering a unique dining experience filled with handcrafted dishes, specialty craft cocktails, a vast beer selection and spirits from local distilleries. As a Rockford small business owner for the past two decades, Cathy embodies the dedication and 815 spirit that makes our region thrive.

During the visit, State Rep Vella and Alderman Karen Hoffman will take on the role of 8th Ward Pub bartenders for Episode 8 of the “Dave on Duty” series in which  Dave develops relationships with business owners and learns the ins and outs of our local industries. All are invited to join and support 8th Ward Pub by ordering from the honorary bartenders. To conclude the celebration, Cathy will be presented with a certificate of recognition from State Representative Dave Vella and the Illinois House of Representatives.
