  • If you are interested in healthy communities and ensuring all Illinois residents have a safe and affordable place to call home, the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is a great fit for you!

    IHDA is seeking students majoring in: Finance/Accounting, Law, Urban planning, Sociology, Geography, Human Resource, Political Science.

    Program Details and Requirements

    • Internship is a full-time, paid, 10-week program from June to August, 2024.

    • Internship is located in downtown Chicago.

    • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.

  • Each year, since 1989, the Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship Fund awards funds to graduating high school seniors to continue their education at Illinois colleges/universities. A total of $375,500 has been awarded to 222 students.

    The 2024 Application is open now thru March 1st. Seven $2000 scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors.

    • The pause on federal student loans ends in September. Here’s what that means:

      Interest rates on all federal student loans will start accruing on Sept. 1st, with payments starting Oct. 1st and servicers contacting all borrowers with their exact due date.

    • Stay up-to-date on student loan repayment strategies: University of Illinois System Student Money Management Center (SMMC) and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) are coordinating a monthly webinar series between July 2023 and March 2024 as federal student loans re-enter repayment after 3.5 years of a payment and interest pause for all federally held student loans.

    • All webinars will be on Fridays at 12 PM CT, run 10-20 minutes in length, and focus on different action items related to the management of federal student loans. They will occur on the following dates:

    • August 18

    • September 15

    • October 20

    • November 17

    • December 15

    • January 19

    • February 16

    • March 15

  • MAP grants, which do not need to be repaid, are available to eligible Illinois residents who attend approved Illinois colleges and demonstrate financial need, based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).

  • If you are a member of the Illinois National Guard, you may be eligible to receive the Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant. This grant can pay for eligible tuition and certain fees (i.e., registration, graduation, general activity, matriculation and term fees) for undergraduate or graduate study. Benefits are limited to use only at Illinois 2- or 4-year public colleges.

  • If you have served at least one year of federal active duty service in the Armed Forces of the United States; or served on federal active duty service in a foreign country during a time of hostilities in that country and were honorably discharged after your most recent period of federal active duty service; and/or are honorably serving you may be eligible for the Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG) Program.

  • If you are the spouse or child of an Illinois police or fire officer who was killed or became at least 90 percent disabled in the line of duty, you may be eligible for the Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers. This grant provides assistance toward college tuition and mandatory fees* for undergraduate or graduate study at an ISAC-approved Illinois college. You may receive assistance for a maximum of the equivalent of four academic years (eight semesters or 12 quarters) of full-time enrollment.
