How We Can Help

The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) helps veterans and their families access the benefits they’ve earned through military service. This includes connecting veterans to healthcare, education, housing, employment, and other state and federal resources.

Our office can assist you by:

  • Helping you locate and contact your local Veteran Service Officer (VSO)

  • Assisting with questions about state and federal veterans' benefits

  • Coordinating with IDVA staff if you're facing delays or roadblocks

  • Providing guidance on DD-214 requests and discharge upgrades

  • Supporting veterans or survivors applying for pensions, disability, or burial benefits

Please note: we do not make decisions regarding eligibility, claims, or benefit levels. We can assist with inquiries, advocate for timely responses, and help navigate the process, but final determinations are made by the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
